Sardool Sikander was a noted Punjabi singer and music icon. Associated with Punjabi-language folk and pop music, his album 'Husna De Malko' which was released in 1991 sold 5.1 million copies worldwide.
Born on 15 January 1961, Sardool Sikander was an accomplished singer and sung Punjabi-language folk and pop music. He belonged to the Patiala gharana of music. Sikander made his first appearances on radio and television in the early 1980s with his album, ‘Roadways di Laari’. He also acted in Punjabi films like ‘Jagga Daku’. He had 27 albums to his credit. His album ‘Husna de Malko’ released in 1991 sold more than 5 million copies worldwide. Sikander is best known for his songs, ‘Ek charkha gali de wich dha laya’ and ‘Sanu ishq brandi char gayi’.
Illness and Death
Sardool Sikander passed away on 24th 24 February 2021. He was 60. Tributes poured in following his death.
